What Does the Disney Princesses Teach You
11 Things We Can Learn From Disney Princesses
Growing up, you always look up to someone in a movie or on TV. Well, of course because I was a '90s kid, I grew up loving Disney princesses. I think every little girl can find at least one Disney princess that she can identify with, and this is why they are so special. Each princess goes through different obstacles and teaches us a different lesson. I made a list of some of my favorite princesses and why I think that the lessons they teach us are still important to this day.
1. Belle
Belle taught us to never judge someone by their outward appearance. Some people may have a "beastly" façade, but a big heart that is searching and longing to be loved.
2. Ariel
Just as Ariel discovered her own "voice," we must remember to use our own. We must stand up for what we believe in, and be there as a voice for the ones who haven't found their voices yet.
3. Cinderella
Cinderella taught us to be resourceful and surround ourselves with loyal friends and meaningful relationships. Her friends gave her comfort and encouragement during difficult days. She became a princess and moved to the castle, but Cinderella never forgot the friends who helped get her there.
4. Snow White
Snow White's story tells us to never listen to society's mirrors. Don't conform to what society says is beauty. True beauty is on the inside.
5. Pocahontas
Pocahontas taught us that you can learn from people that are different from you. So, if you "walk in the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew, you never knew." Appreciate nature and its beauty.
6. Mulan
Mulan is not your typical Disney female character. She isn't a princess, but she teaches some of the most important lessons out of all of Disney. She was strong enough in her self not to conform to what everyone else thought was beautiful. She rebelled against what society thought she should be to save her family's lives. Even when she was thrown out of the army, she still went back to save her friends, loved ones, and country. She teaches us to stand up for what is right, to be true to yourself, and always be there for your loved ones.
7. Jasmine
I love Jasmine because she teaches us that your "class" doesn't define you. She saw the heart in Aladdin and never hesitated. Love has no boundaries. She shows us that each individual is special; you just have to be looking.
8. Tiana
Tiana teaches us that you need to have goals and aspirations. Hard work goes a long way, but you need to have sight of the important things. Working hard is important, but love is so special. It will find you if you are open to receiving it.
9. Rapunzel
Rapunzel teaches us that if you have a dream and passion combined, nothing can stop you. She pursued her dream until it finally came true, and she also got love along the way. She finally "saw the light."
10. Anna
The thing I learn from Anna is that family is so important. Even though words and deeds can be cold and harsh sometimes, make the effort and restore your relationships with your family.
11. Elsa
Elsa is such an awesome princess. (Well actually she is queen.) However, she shows us that running away from problems is never an option. There will be difficult times, pain, and disappointment, but running away and isolation is never the answer. No matter the situation, your family will always be there to love and support you. Take it to them and God, then just "let it go."
